The surface mounted plastic foil capacitor is produced of a capacitor element Ä1Ü that is fitted within a plastic housing Ä2Ü that is open at both ends.The housing is formed of a temperature stable plastic with a melting point of less than 250 degrees Celcius. The capacitor is fitted into the housing with the aid of snap in clips or with adhesive. An alternative version has crimped ends.
