PURPOSE:To easily obtain the title latex with certainty by mixing a latex of an alpha,beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer and a latex of a conjugated diene polymer under specified temperature conditions to incorporate the latter latex particles into the former latex particles. CONSTITUTION:A latex of a conjugated diene polymer (e.g. a butadiene/styrene copolymer) is mixed with a latex of an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer containing at least 0.1wt.% monomer units comprising a polyhydric alcohol ester of an alpha,beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. methoxypolyethylene glycol monomethacrylate), at least 0.1wt.% monomer units comprising an alpha,beta-ethylenically unsaturated acid (e.g. acrylic acid) and at most 99.8wt.% monomer units comprising an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate) at a temperature above one calculated by a specified equation and above 0 deg.C. |
