An Information Module (1) adapted to be plugged into a motor vehicle cigar/cigarette lighter receptacle (17) or other power source receptacle, a first electrical contact conductor (6) located on the rear of the Information Module (1) for electrically containing the motor vehicle electrical power source (18) at the rear of the receptacle when the Information Module (1) is inserted into the receptacle (17), a second electrical contact conductor (11) located on a side wall of the Information Module (1) for electrically containing a ground conductor of the motor vehicle; a control circuit (7) in the Information Module (1) connnected by first and second Information Module terminals (10,19) to the first (6) and second (11) electrical contact conductors of the motor vehicle, respectively; a light emitting device (12) inside the Information Module (1) connected to output conductors (13,13a) of the control circuit (7); and an information symbol or indicia (20) disposed on a front lens supported in fixed relation to the Information Module (1) and illuminated by the light emitting device (12). In the described embodiment, the Information Module (1) includes a control circuit responsive to the vehicle's voltage when first applied or to an altered voltage of the vehicle when the vehicle is started. The Information Module (1) displays a relatively high intensity blinking light for a selected interval at a selected rate, followed by steady bright illumination of the Information Module indicator. <IMAGE> |
