PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure switching-type device capable of being operated with high energy efficiency at a temp. safe for a rotary piston pump without injecting water or cooling with water and the method for operating the device. SOLUTION: This pressure switching-type device for obtaining oxygen from air has two adsorbers 1 and 2, an air blower 3 for the adsorbed air and a desorbing vacuum pump stand 12 are connected to the adsorbers, the vacuum pump stand is provided with two vacuum pumps 13 and 14 connected in tandem, the second vacuum pump in the flow direction is constituted as a rotary piston pump with the inlet precooled to introduce only the outside air at atmospheric pressure, the inlet of the second vacuum pump is connected to the outlet of the first vacuum pump without cooling gas by water injection or a heat exchanger, and the device is operated at 300 to 500 millibar desorption pressure. |
