WATER-DISINTEGRABLE NONWOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-disintegrable nonwoven fabric holding a strength capable of resisting to works such as a cleaning work in a dry state and in a wet state and capable of disintegrating fibers composing the nonwoven fabric in a large volume of water flow. SOLUTION: This water-disintegrable nonwoven fabric comprises a nonwoven fabric obtained by integrally interlacing regenerated cellulose fibers with wood pulp, and has a water-disintegrability of 60-300 sec and a wet tensile strength geometrical average value of 200-10000 gf/25 mm. The water-disintegrability is expressed by the time required for disintegrating the nonwoven fabric having a size of 5 cm×5 cm into the maximum piece of 1 cm<2> , when the nonwoven fabric is charged into 100 ml pure water and disintegrated at a vibration rate of 300 cycles/min. The water-disintegrable nonwoven fabric is obtained by forming a web by a known wet type paper-making method, loading the formed web on a porous support and subsequently jetting a high pressure water jet flow on the surface of the web under a condition comprising an addition ratio energy E of 0.07-0.20 kWh/kg to integrally interlace the regenerated cellulose fibers with the wood pulp.
