FIELD: oil-producing industry, in particular, methods of gas-lift operation of wells. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of gas into flow of formation fluid and hydrophobization of tubing interior surface. Hydrophobization of tubing interior surface is effected by metered supply of cationic surfactant together with gas. Amount of surfactant is selected to ensure its 0.1-1.0% concentration in recovered formation fluid. EFFECT: higher efficiency due to increased efficiency of gas lift with concurrent reduction of working medium and exclusion of laborious operations. 2 cl, 1 tblr
