Compressor swept volume is varied by altering the inclination of a swash-plate with respect to the drive-shaft, around which the cylinders are arranged on parallel axes, reciprocal piston motiion being imparted by the rotating swash-plate periphery. A computer, comparing actual condition with passenger requirements, adjusts the refrigerating system by varying the control valve's solenoid current (61). The spring-loaded (71) solenoid plunger (70) exerts pressure (73) on a valve (64) operating in a chamber (65) communicating (65a, Pd) with the compressor discharge chamber, and restrained by a stronger spring (67). The moving parts are connected on a common axis with a bellows (75) chamber (74) monitoring (74a, Ps) compressor inlet pressure. Effectively, refrigerant admission is routed (Pd-Pc) through the valve chamber and subjected to computer control, given satisfactory discharge pressure. |
