Utilising waste heat present in motor vehicles

Waste heat generated in an internal combustion engine (2) is at least partially transferred into a heat accumulator (1), built into the vehicle, by passing the cooling medium through pipes (6). The heat accumulator of the motor vehicle is connectable to a stationary system for storing or transporting of heat energy. The heat energy contained in the heat accumulator is transferable to the stationary system. The flow of heat between the cooling circuit and the heat accumulator or between the accumulator and stationary system is effected by heat exchangers.
