Screened electrical connector

The connector has a conducting screen (50) with two lateral wall sections (54), an upper wall section (52) and a front wall section (51) with an input opening (511). An insulated housing (40) within the screen has upper and lower sides (41,43) and a contact fixing element (45) mounted inside the screen to be accessible via the input opening. Contacts fixed in the housing have a connection section arranged in the contact fixing element of the housing for engagement with the contacts of a counter connector. A conducting latch (522) made in one piece with one of the lateral wall sections (54) extends along the contact fixing element (45) for engagement with the screen of a counter connector.
