A method of granulating waste plastic in waste plastic recycling equipment, comprising the steps of sorting out waste plastic from waste, removing chlorine from the stored waste plastic by thermally melting the waste plastic, and then granulating the chlorine-free waste plastic; and an apparatus for granulating waste plastic in waste plastic recycling equipment, comprising a heating unit for use in removing chlorine from waste plastic sorted out of waste, by thermally melting the waste plastic, a means for forming the waste plastic thermally melted by the heating unit into plate-like, rod-like or massive waste plastic, and a means for granulating the plate-like, rod-like or massive waste plastic.
