The comb mesh machine has three inner rotary pistons, four outer rotor work chambers, and eight profiled cutting edges. The housing, rotors and eccentric bearing blocks are made of cooled 36 % nickel steel, while the rotary pistons -. which in operation attain minimal clearances through grinding action and thermal expansion - are made of a machinable ceramic. The cutting edges of the outer rotor (3) are made of a cutting material such as, for example, titanium nitride. The inner rotor is made as a single component of a high-strength steel. Close to the coated surfaces of the rotary pistons it is provided with closely spaced cooling or heating oil channels.
