A physiotherapeutic device for ascent and decent of stairs by patients for rehabilitation purposes. This device has a plurality of longitudinal steps (8) adjacent to each step (8). A body (3) is pivotally attached to each of the steps (8). There is also an elevator (2) and an actuator (1) attached beneath the body (3). An embodiment of the invention may be used to lift a handicapped person from one level to another. This device utilizes a short (24) and long (28) post. The post (24) and post (28) are both pivotally attached to the body (3). Also between the posts (24, 28) are a plurality of posts (25). The long post (28) is pivotally attached to a pivot (29) to a link bar (30). The link bar (30) is pivotally attached to a handle (32) having a pivot (31).
