<p>The ramp comprises two beams (1) which engage with the vehicle body and have hinged flaps (2) on their ends for loading and unloading. Each end flap pivots about a transverse axis (3) and can be set at an angle to a beam or in line with it. Each of the hinged flaps has stay bars (8) on its underside to retain it in one of the two positions, the bars being pivoted at one end to a transverse axle on the end of a beam beneath the pivot for the flap, and is connected at the other end to retaining members (14) on a transverse rod. The retaining members can be moved in brackets (12) on the underside of the flap by a handle (10) on the end of the rod.</p> |
