摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce molten iron for steelmaking having a desired carbon concn. from iron scrap even in the case of using coke for blast furnace or briquetted coke as carbonaceous material by adjusting a distance from the center axis of an uppermost tuyere in the blasting tuyeres buried in a carbonaceous material bed to the upper surface of the carbonaceous material bed according to the target melting speed of an iron source. SOLUTION: The distance H (m) from the center axis of the tuyere positioned at the uppermost part in the primary blasting tuyere 3 arranged at the lower part of a vertical type melting furnace 1 to the upper surface of the carbonaceous material bed, is adjusted to the range satisfying the following inequalities according to the target melting speed W (ton/hr) of the iron source. That is, at the time of being W<=4, 0.75+0.01125 W<H<=1.5, and at the time of being W>=4, 1.2<H<=1.5 must be satisfied to adjust the height. Since the melting speed of the iron source is decided with solely the input heat to the iron source caused by the combustion heat of the carbonaceous material and the blasting sensible heat, the adjusting means of the carbonaceous material bed height can be decided with almost only the blasting condition and the carbonaceous material charging quantity.</p>
