PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the map display device in a navigation equipment, which can recognize the accurate road shape and distance sense and can display the map in the broad range. SOLUTION: The display region of a map is divided into the secondary display region and the tertiary display region. For the entire coordinate points of all drawing elements of map data (step S10-step S12), the secondary coordinate conversion (step S14) and the tertiary coordinate conversion (step S16) are performed. The drawing coordinates in the secondary display region as the result of the secondary coordinate conversion (step S15; NO) and the drawing coordinates in the tertiary display region as the result of the tertiary coordinate conversion (step S17; NO) are stored in a memory (step S18). From the drawn coordinates, the drawing description data for the entire display region are formed (step S20), and the data are developed as the image data and displayed. |
