PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device which has uniform cell thicknesses and in which one pair of substrates are rigidly adhered and which is provided with a sufficient impact resistance and a satisfactory display quality by providing an orientation controlled film at least on a substrate of either of one pair of substrates and containing organic resin in the orientation controlled film. SOLUTION: A substrate 10 is provided with an insulating substrate 1a, plural electrodes 2a, plural light shielding films 3a and wall shaped spacers 6 are formed along the light shielding films 3a and an insulating film 4a and an orientation controlled film 5 are successively formed like covering them. A substrate 20 is constituted of an insulating substrate 1b, plural electrodes 2b, an insulating film 4b and the orientation controlled film 5 laminated on the insulating film 4b. Then, organic resin is contained in the orientation controlled film 5. Thus, adhesiveness is imparted on the orientation controlled film 5, one pair of the substrates 10 and 20 are rigidly stucked and adhered. |
