The material is made from one or more layers of film which is impermeable to air or with low permeability and covered with pieces of a compressing insulating material such as synthetic or natural foam, bark, wood, wadding, kapok, wool, felt, glass or synthetic fibres, rubber, silicone, plastics or corrugated cardboard, attached to the film layer(s) by adhesive, thermal or ultrasound welding, or stitching. The film is e.g. of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester or nylon, and the synthetic foam pieces can be of polyurethane, polyimide, PP, PVC, amino- or phenol plastics, silicone or expanded polystyrene.
