PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such a case where a single system failure that does not directly affect the service is misunderstood as a failure of a circuit end point, by managing the failure information received from a communication device for each redundant constitution and deciding that the service cannot be provided if all redundant constitutions are faulty. SOLUTION: A network management system is formed based on a management model that is prescribed by an ITU-T recommendation M. 3010. A O- system management part 6 and a 1-system management part 7 of redundant constitution elements which are prepared for the constitution elements of communication devices 9 and 10 receive the failure information from both devices 9 and 10 to retrieve the states of both systems with each other. If the service cannot be provided to both systems, this fact is notified to a conversion part 5. The part 5 converts the received notification into the information necessary for the network management of a network management device 8. Thus, the management 8 can instantaneously decide that the supply of service is impossible. |
