PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure surface extending property of the processing surface by reducing the processing resistance at the time of grinding of a laminated magnetic head to prevent generation of peeling of a metal magnetic film. SOLUTION: The magnetic core half-bodies 1, 2 are formed of non-magnetic guard materials 11, 12, 13, 14 and metal magnetic films 6, 7 and are also forming a magnetic gap g at its butting surface. A coil winding window 8 is provided at the butting surface and the grinding of the winding groove to form such winding window 8 is performed with a cutting depth of single grinding as (T-S)/M with the number of times M(M>=2) when the final cutting size of winding groove is defined as T and the final finishing size of winding groove as S. For the grinding, a plurality kind of grind stones are used, the average grain size of grind stone for the first trial is set to 20μm or larger, the average grain size is set larger than 6μm but is smaller than 2020μm for processes from the second trial and to the final cutting process and average grain size is set to smaller than 6 for the final grinding. Moreover, the amount of 10μm or more and 30μm or less is left as the final finishing cutting size S of winding groove.
