PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent useless lens driving at the time of turning on a power source by controlling and driving a zoom lens to a zoom position other than a wide angle end by a control means when the zoom lens is switched from a non-photographing state to a photographing state by a switch. SOLUTION: After starting, the on/off of a power source switch 17 is judged. When the switch 17 is turned on, the on/off of a recover switch 19 is judged. When the switch 19 is turned off, each lens group is driven to the zoom position where the entire length of the lens is the shortest from a lens collapsed (housed) state. On the other hand, when the switch 19 is turned on, a memory 16 is accessed and the recorded zoom position is read out. Each lens group is driven to the zoom position read out. When a zoom switch 18 is turned on, each lens group is driven to a switched wide angle end direction or a telephoto end direction along the locus of zoom. |
