PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which simplifies appropriate control matching a specified recording-paper-size without decreasing throughput when feeding paper from a free-size cassette. SOLUTION: A laser beam printer 101 specifies the size of recording paper loaded in the free-size cassette 104, and takes a sample of the specified size of the recording paper 105 to generate sample data. For each control target relating to image formation on the recording paper 105, the specified size of the recording paper and the sampled size are categorized as a representative size used for the control target. Based on the representative size as which they are categorized, operation conditions for the control target are set, and control is exerted on the control target according to the set operation conditions. |
