PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for air conditioner which can be set either on the upper side or the lower side when the outdoor units are stacked. SOLUTION: Outdoor units 1 are stacked and linked through a linking metal. A reinforcing member 11 is provided vertically and closely to an electric part box in the casing 1 of an outdoor unit being set on the lower side. The reinforcing member 11 forms a tubular part 9 extending from the top plate 2 toward the bottom plate. The coupling metal is fixed by means of screws to the part of the top plate 2 located above the tubular part 9. A slit 10 is made at the position of screw hole.
