PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual toner detector being convenient for a user to operate by properly displaying a residual amount state, in accordance with the number of transitions from a semideficient state to a normal state, at the time of detecting residual toner, so as to hardly make an erroneous judgment on the residual toner, when the flowability of toner is deteriorated and the fluctuation of a residual amount state display small when the flowability of the toner is excellent. SOLUTION: In the step S1, when a toner stirring operation is not in execution, initialization processing at the time of exchanging the toner is attained (from the step S10 to the step S13) and when the stirring operation is in execution, toner display control processing is attained (from the step S2 to the step S7). When both of empty and near states are not detected (the steps S3 and S4) and a counter value does not reach 15 (the step S5), the near state is not displayed (the step S7) and when the previous state is of the near state (the step S5), one is added to the count value (the step S6). When the near state is detected or the counter value reaches 15 regardless of the nondetection of the near state, the near state is displayed (the step S9). |
