The appliance has a forging die (14) with aperture (14m), which has a longitudinal bend corresponding to that of the product. A die plunger (12) corresponds in shape to that of the forging die aperture. Forging die and plunger each have a section, which is bent in longitudinal direction and has a bending radius smaller than other sections corresponding to a linear part of the product. The edging process is determined by adjustment of edges (12r,14f) on plunger and forging die in such a way, that the material of the section with the smaller bending radius is edged before that of the sections with the larger bending radius.
