An electrode catheter for endocardiac mapping comprises at least one electrode (det1, det2), intended for insertion into a patient's heart for endocardiac sensing of electrical activity, on the distal end of the catheter. An electrical detection unit (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14), connected to the electrode, is also arranged on the distal end of the catheter for determining the time at which predefined electrical activity, sensed by the electrode, occurs. Circuit means (16) are further arranged to send information on the said times to information processing equipment outside the catheter.
