The parts are moved between press stages, which has part deposits between the stages. Feeding of parts into/removal out of a tool stage resp. into/out of a deposit station between tool stages, take place at the same time in two different transportation planes above each other. The upper tool is contained in the tool stage, and a lifting device is incorporated in the deposit station within the part transportation. The parts are moved from an output transfer unit to an insertion transfer unit, in a transfer station between the tool stages. During transportation, the part moves between top and lower transportation planes.
