METHOD FOR DISCOVERING THE LOCATION OF A LIVING OBJECT AND MICROWAVE LOCATION DEVICE FOR REALISING THE SAME

The method of the present invention comprises transmitting an RF signal for a duration Tt and receiving the reflected signal within a fixed time interval Ti having a duration which is equal to the fixed duration of the transmitted signal Tt plus the delay tau >d< between the end of the signal transmission and the beginning of the reflected signal reception. Once a modulated component is detected from the heart pulse and/or breathing frequency of a person, the level of said component is measured and the duration of the reflected signal reception is modified. This modification is carried out until the level of the modulated component decreases relative to its level for the initial reflected RF signal and until the moment when the signal stops coming in. The range is further determined from the reception duration of the modulated-component reflected signal. This invention also relates to a microwave location device that includes a modulator (1) as well as a transmitter (2) comprising a generator (3), a power splitting unit (4) and a transmission antenna (5). The device also includes a receptor (6) comprising a reception antenna (7), a microwave receptor (8), a pre-amplifier/demodulator (9) and a signal processing unit (10). The modulator (1) is made tuneable for modifying the duration of the control pulses and for fixing the same. The device further includes a first pulse modulator (11) for the transmitter (2) and a second pulse modulator (12) for the microwave receptor (8). The modulator (1) has a control output which is connected to the control input of the second pulse modulator (12) so that the receptor (6) receives the reflected signal with a delay relative to the end of the signal transmission from the transmitter (2) and so that the opening time of the microwave receptor (8) can be modified. The signal processing unit (10) is then used for measuring the level of the modulated component.
