The suction device for a drill (10) has a suction fan (22) taking the drilled-out material from the work point (16) to a collector (25). The fan has a suction chamber (21) enclosing a fan wheel (23) driven by the motor (12) in the drill. The suction device has at least once suction channel (20), which connects axially to a suction line (17) in the hollow drill bit (15). At least part of the suction channel is inside the drive spindle (14) of the drill. The entry region of the suction channel on the tool side is in the form of a funnel.
