<p>A steel post is composed of an outer tube 40, an inner tube 50, two retaining members 60, 70, a position confining member 45, a fastening member 80, and a resilient element 84. The inner tube is received in the outer tube such that the inner tube can be extended and retracted, and that the extended inner tube is located by the clamping mechanism of the retaining members. The displacement of the retaining members is confined by the position confining member 45. The fastening member 80 serves to fasten and unfasten the retaining members so as to enable the extended inner tube to be retracted. The resilient element 84 enables the retaining members to remain disengaged with the inner tube.</p> |
