PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the impregnation of a resin sufficient, and facilitate the keeping of a sheet shape by a method wherein a mat-form composition wherein a thermoplastic resin and a reinforcing fiber are tangled with each other, is heated to the melting temperature or higher of the thermoplastic resin, and then, the mat-form composition is heat-pressed under a state being cooled to a temperature which is not lower than the solidifying temperature but less than the melting temperature. SOLUTION: For a mat-form composition 2, a thermoplastic resin and a reinforcing fiber are tangled with each other, and for the thermoplastic resin, a polyolefin based resin, a polyester based resin, and a polyamide based resin, etc., can be counted. For the reinforcing fiber, an inorganic fiber, an organic fiber, and a metal fiber, etc., can be counted. The mat- form composition 2 is heat-molten by passing through a heat-melting zone HZ of a heating furnace 3, from a feeding machine 1. The heating time at the melting temperature or higher of the mat-form composition 2, may be a sufficient period of time by which the thermoplastic resin fiber melt-deforms into drop shapes. The mat-form composition 2 which is made thinner at the heat-melting zone HZ, is heat-pressed by a following sheet forming device 4 at a temperature which is less than the melting temperature but not lower than the solidification temperature. |
