PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the distorted deployment of an air bag by forming recessed grooves along the axial direction on the inner face of an outer tube, and forming gas discharge holes in the recessed grooves. SOLUTION: Recessed grooves 16 are formed in the axial direction on the inner face of an outer tube 5, many gas discharge holes 5a are formed in the recessed grooves 16 to form gas hole lines r1, r2, and the inner faces of the recessed grooves 16 are blocked by a tape-like burst plate 7. When the burst plate 7 is broken by an increase of the internal pressure of a housing 1, gas flows into the recessed grooves 16 from a filter member 3, and it is equalized and flows out from the gas discharge holes 5a. The gas flow is made nearly uniform for individual gas discharge holes 5a, and the passing resistance of gas becomes nearly constant. Even when the tubular filter member 3 is filled between the inner and outer tubes to be closely stuck with no gap and a gas generator X is miniaturized, the characteristics of the gas generator X such as the discharge characteristic of the gas discharged into an air bag and the internal pressure of the gas generator X can be easily controlled. |
