The applicator (1) has a rotating hard sleeve surface (2) formed in the transfer roller (3). Each curved section (18) of the sleeve surface dips into a fluid (4) and forms a linear layer of fluid mixture on the surface of the roller through a lower rotational drive idler wheel (5). The rotational drive can have at least two idler wheels (5) pressed against the sleeve surface of the transmission rollers and supported on friction wheels (6). The friction wheels are mounted on a common drive shaft.
