Electromagnetic lock used on piece of furniture

The furniture lock has a round bar (5) which carries locking catches and which is rotated between locked and unlocked positions. The bar has a flat which is gripped by a spring loaded slider to clamp the rotation of the bar in the locked position. A solenoid retracts the slider to release the lock. The bar is located through a lock housing (7) secured to one inside face of the furniture item. The slider presses the bar into a rounded edge (12) of the recess in the housing. The thrust face of the slider is angled to pull the bar into the locking position.
