MONITORED VIDEO CAMERA SYSTEM

A monitored video camera system includes a video camera (101), a transmission line (105), a video processing unit (103), and monitoring circuitry (109). The video camera (101) provides a video signal to a first end of the transmission line (105). The video camera (101) also provides an impedance load which impedance matched with the transmission line (105). The video processing unit (103) receives the video signal from a second end of the transmission line (105). The monitoring circuitry (109) provides at least one oscillatory voltage to the transmission line (105) at the second end to detect an impedance mismatch between the impedance load and the transmission line (105).
