PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for starting a liquefying device for drastically reducing the starting time of the liquefying device that is attached to an air liquefying separation device. SOLUTION: When starting a liquefying device 13 with turbines 22 and 23 having oil bearing type bearings 51 and 52 and at the same time oil coolers 59 and 64 for cooling oil that is used for the bearings of the turbines 22 and 23, a coolant or a warn drain being heated that is led from an air liquefying separation device is introduced to oil coolers 59 and 64 and the oil is heated by an oil exchange, the heated oil is introduced to the bearings 51 and 52 for heating, and then the liquefying device 13 is started.
