PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developing toner without causing poor cleaning due to scratching a photoreceptor and cleaning blades by incorporating a specified fine tungsten carbide powder as an external additive in the toner particles comprising a colorant and a binder resin. SOLUTION: Hundred pts.wt. of the toner particles comprising at least the colorant and the binder resin contains 0.01-5 pts.wt. of the fine tungsten carbide powder, as the external additive, having a BET specific surface area of 0.06-0.8 m<2> /g and a Mohs' hardness of, preferably, 9.0, and prepared by the solid reaction method in which a starting material is burned by heating it to high temperature to produce particles each formed into a roundish shape freed of corners, thus permitting the obtained tungsten carbide particles to have a soft grinding effect on a photoreceptor and to hardly scratch the photoreceptor made of an organic photoconductor or an amorphous silicon. |
