<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electrophotographic toner capable of restraining the occurrence of fogging and controlling the dispersion of a colorant and a releasing agent by specifying the melt index and the dielectric loss coefficient tanδof the binder resin. SOLUTION: The melt index (MI value) of the binder resin is set to 5.0-11.0, preferably, 5.5-10.0, especially, 6.0-8.0 in order to enable a mixture to be melted and kneaded in high viscosity, and the melted binder resin to be given a great shearing stress to the releasing agent by the kneaded product to disperse the releasing agent as minute particles. If the MI value is <=11.0, the releasing agent can be fully dispersed into the binder resin, but if the value is lower than 5.0, the viscosity at the time of the kneading is too high to exert an extremely great shearing stress, resulting in cutting polymer chains and tending to cause offset trouble at the time of image transfer, the colorant is dispersed into the binder so as to obtain a tanδof 2.0-5.0, preferably, 2.5-4.5.</p> |
