PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter having a shaft composed of a multi- lumen tube whose antipodal characters are made to coexist in a well-balanced condition, and provide a manufacturing method having a high yield of a multi- lumen shaft used therefor. SOLUTION: This catheter is constituted so as to have a shaft 1A composed of a multi-lumen tube 4 containing a bi (or dual) lumen tube. In this case, the multi-lumen tube is composed of a resin material having a bending elastic modulus of a range contributory to a pushing-in force transmitting characteristic and bending passage follow-up performance, and the shaft where a resin material layer (a tube 5) having higher lubricating ability (surface energy not more than 50 dyn/cm) exists on an inside surface of a guide wire lumen 4A among a lumen of the multi-lumen tube, is used. |
