PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline secondary battery which has improved discharge capacity, maintaining a practical charge-discharge cycle life. SOLUTION: In this alkaline secondary battery provided with the positive electrode 2, the negative pole 4 containing a rare-earth hydrogen occlusion alloy and an alkaline electrolytic solution, capacity of the above-mentioned secondary battery is 310 wh/l or over, and the above-mentioned rare-earth hydrogen occlusion alloy contains cobalt atoms and manganese atoms, and content of the above-mentioned manganese atoms lies within the range of 0.6 wt.% or over, and below 2.6 wt.%. |
