<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain the subject compound useful as a physiologically active compound or an intermediate for medicines, by using a peptide including a specific cysteine derivative as a starting substance. SOLUTION: This compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is a group obtained by eliminating OH from COOH at the C terminal of an amino acid or a peptide consisting of 2 or more amino acids, or an amino-group protective group; R<2> is a group obtained by eliminating H from the amino group at the N terminal of an amino acid or a peptide consisting of 2 or more amino acids, etc.; R<3> is H or an organic group) is obtained by subjecting a compound of formula II [X is a group eliminable as X-S(O)n - ((n) is 1 or 2) together with the neighboring S] to elimination reaction in the presence of a base. The compound of formula II is obtained by oxidizing a compound of formula III (R<11> is an amino acid, etc.; R<21> is an amino acid, etc.), and as desired, eliminating the protective group, then, condensing the resultant product with an amino acid or a peptide. The compound of formula I is useful as a material for peptide synthesis where it is used as a prochiral substrate, and as a substrate for asymmetric reduction and asymmetric addition reaction, etc.</p> |
