The invention concerns a method for covering a riverbed with stony material, in which use is made of a pontoon with open compartments through which this material is deposited using scraper bars from movable slides above these compartments. The distinguishing features are that: a) a relief map of the river bed is made, b) the speed with which the slides move is determined and altered as necessary as a function of the required - sloping or flat - profile for the river bed, c) the pontoon is moved as a function of the relief map of the river bed and/or the required sloping or flat profile, d) the position of the pontoon is changed depending on the speed at which the water is flowing, e) the speed with which the slide and the pontoon are moved changes along with the profile changes in the river bed.<IMAGE> |
