The invention concerns the connection of the links of a chain intended to be used essentially in jewellery. According to the invention, the arcs 1 of the links are joined to form a chain with the aid of cubic connection pieces 2. The connection piece is provided with holes 5-8 in which the ends of the arcs provided with securing sleeves 4 fit and which are situated in eccentric positions in the sides 12-15 of the connection piece. By means of this attachment mechanism, the chain has three different ornamental shapes which can be obtained by turning or folding the chain. The piece of jewellery according to the invention gives the appearance of three different items of jewellery but nevertheless forms a stylish whole. <IMAGE>
