The flowmeter has a measuring tube (3) contg. a detection element (4) and plate type directional elements (21a-21i), which extend parallel to the middle axis of the measuring tube, and are arranged between the main duct (1) and the measuring tube (3). The directional elements are aligned upstream from a flowing in opening (3a) or from a flow out opening (3b) of the measuring tube (3) aligned downstream or protruding in both directions. A number of directional elements are created at positions for the circumferential spacing of the measuring tube.
