<p>The crown (21) on a steel strip in a rolling mill is controlled by a continuous rotational adjustment of an arbor (1) in response to a control signal representing the current crown (21) profile or deviation therefrom, the arbor (1) being equipped with a series of eccentric rings (2, 3, 4, 5) fixed thereto, bearings (7) surrounding the rings, and a continuous or segmented sleeve (8) around the rings (2, 3, 4, 5). Where the sleeve (8) is segmented, use of an intermediate roll is suggested.</p> |
