MODIFIED SOLID ALKALINE SILICATE WITH IMPROVED SOLUBILITY, ITS USE IN DETERGENCY AND DETERGENT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SAME

The invention concerns modified alkaline silicate, in solid form, with improved solubility in water, obtainable by bringing together: a concentrated aqueous solution of a metal alkaline or ammonium silicate containing 35 to 55 wt.% of active matter, and at least a polyhydroxylated organic compound (carbohydrate or polyalcohol) compatible with said concentrated silicate composition; then by drying until a solid is obtained with a water content of the order of 2 to 28 %. The invention also concerns the use of said solid modified silicate as monofunctional or polyfunctional additive in a detergent composition. The invention further concerns detergent compositions containing said modified alkaline silicate.
