A steering wheel for a motor vehicle has a rim 2 which is connected via radially projecting spokes 4 to a central hub (3, Fig. 1), the rim 2 comprising annular portions 8, 9 which are connected to one another and one of which 8 is cover by a wood veneer 6, the other 9 being covered by leather 12. The portions over part of the length of the rim have equal cross-sectional areas (Fig.2) but adjacent spokes 4 the cross-sectional area of portion 8 is reduced and the cross-sectional area of the other rim portion 9 is increased (Fig. 3). Thus, the parts of the rim normally gripped by the driver will have a warmer feel than the other parts. |
