A method of determining the injected quantity of fuel in an internal combustion engine comprises the steps of measuring combustion chamber pressures by pressure sensors (14 to 17) and crankshaft angular settings by an angle sensor (18), the measured pressure values being synchronised with the measured settings and the indicated work, which corresponds with the difference between the work produced and the work done by the cylinder, being calculated from the synchronised pressure values. The quantity of the injected fuel can be ascertained from this indicated work. |
