PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector wherein the input of an approximate position is facilitated when the position of the position detector is significantly change while a GPS position detecting device does not receive GPS signal. SOLUTION: A position detector 10 comprises a position detecting means which receives a signal from a satellite for finding position. Here, the position information obtained with a GPS processing part 2 wherein, as a position detecting means, position of a receiving part 1 is found, based on the signal from a GPS satellite which is receives by the receiving part 1 is displaced on a display part 3. A position information reading means 4 reads a map information stored in such position information storage means as an electronic map 5, and displays a map on the display part 3. A display mark is displayed, on the displayed map, at such position as corresponding to that obtained with the GPS processing part 2. The electronic map 5 can be selected/replaced with an electronic map with a desired area at will. |
