The fastening has a base section (3) which fits on the frame (2). It has a bearing area (30) against which the inside face of the edge (10) of the glazing unit (1) rests. A retaining strip (4) fits outside and around the sides of the glazing unit. The strip has a retaining lip (40) which is in contact with the outer edge of the glazing unit. The strip has a fastening lip (41) which is attached to the base section.
