There is provided puzzle apparatus (10), comprising groups of picture members (12, 14, 16, 18) hingedly connected to a construction area (20). Each group comprises a plurality of elongate members (22). Each elongate member (22) has a plurality of square picture elements (24) printed on the playing face. The number of picture elements (24) on each elongate member (22) is equal to the number of elongate members (22) in each group of picture members (14, 18), and vice versa. Slits (26) are provided along the boundaries between the picture elements (24). The slits (26) extend across approximately one half of the width of each elongate member (22). The picture elements (24) form at least one complete image when the picture members (12, 14, 16, 18) are in the folded state, in which they are folded in upon the construction area (20), and the elongate members (22) are interwoven and interlocked in a predetermined arrangement.
